Making outbound calls using our virtual number mobile app is a piece of cake. It’s lightweight, simple and intuitive to use.

VL Mobile App

The Virtually Local app allows you to make outbound calls directly from your mobile using your virtual landline number. The mobile app will display your virtual number to those receiving your calls, hiding your mobile phone number.

Outbound Calls

Up until now, outbound calls have been made using the My Virtually Local number management portal. Our new and existing customers can conveniently make calls whilst on the go using our IOS and Android compatible mobile app. 

Your Number

For a lot of customers, displaying your virtual number caller ID is super important. The mobile app will always use your default phone number. The default phone number can be changed inside the My Virtually Local portal.

Call Quality

The Virtually Local mobile app requires good connectivity from your own mobile phone network. Data connectivity is required, but only to authenticate your account for security reasons. Outbound calls will use your carriers GSM service.

Call Statistics

Calls made and received through the Virtually Local mobile app will be included in the call statistics section of the My Virtually Local portal. Statistics include call volume, call duration and call status (answered, busy or missed).

The Virtually Local mobile app will be in constant development to ensure compatibility with new versions of IOS and Android. If you experience any issues with the mobile app, please log a support ticket in My Virtually Local.

How do I get the app?

The app is available for both Apple IOS and Google Android phones and can be downloaded from the Google Play or Apple App Store.

Why do I need the app?

The app lets you make calls from your virtual number. This means that the person you are calling cannot see your mobile number.

How do I login to the app?

Your username and password is the same one that you use to login to our portal, My Virtually Local.

What will the call quality be like?

The app is not a VoIP app; it uses the native GSM network so the quality will be identical to any other call you make from your mobile phone.  It’s always a good idea to make sure you have good signal.

Can I record the calls?

Yes, if you have call recording enabled then your calls are recorded and available for playback via My Virtually Local on the Call History Page.

How much does the app cost?

The app itself is a free download from the Google Play or Apple App Store. You will need to make sure the numbers you want to use with the app are subscribed to the Business or Unlimited package.

How do I pay for the calls I make?

The calls are included within the minutes bundle that you already pay for. There are no extra or hidden charges.

Can I call the contacts from my phone?

Yes. The app seamlessly integrates with existing contacts stored on your mobile phone. You will need to accept the permission request when asked in order for the app to access your address book.

Can I install the app on more than one phone?

Yes. Anyone who is able to present the login username and password for the app will be able to use it to make calls.
